This mini-symposium focuses on ground-borne noise and vibration due to road and railway traffic at grade and in tunnels. The aim of the mini-symposium is to collect experimental as well as numerical studies dealing with excitation mechanisms of traffic induced vibration, dynamic vehicle-track interaction, the transmission of vibration into the free field, the response of nearby structures, and the design and assessment of mitigation measures at the source or on the transmission path.
